Hospital in Torsby:

Torsby Hospital is an emergency hospital where the catchment areas are the municipalities in northern Värmland, i.e. Torsby, Sunne, Hagfors and Munkfors.

Torsby Hospital is the county’s northernmost emergency hospital with activity around the clock. In fresh premises there is emergency and outpatient reception for all specialties. The hospital is clinic-free, flow-oriented and based on the patient’s needs. We work based on the vision “to create a hospital where we can imagine ourselves to be patients”.

Here, activities are conducted in medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, anaesthesia, surgery and intensive care, radiology, laboratory, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and palliative care. The surgical activities include both orthopaedics and surgery, including endoscopic activities. There is also a dialysis department here.

The hospital has three care wards where patients with surgical and internal medicine complaints can be cared for. The hospital has reception services and also a mobile team. A well-functioning operating department and intensive care/recovery and emergency department. There is an on-call line in medicine, one in surgery and one in orthopaedics.

Duties

As a head doctor / specialist, you participate in all parts of the business – on-call, department and reception. After introduction and possible supplementation, you are included in the stand-by line, conducted as a preparedness at home evening / night with presence during the day and weekends. You should enjoy dealing with acutely ill patients with a wide range of internal medical conditions. At the reception, it is possible to focus more on certain patient groups, for example in diabetology, rheumatology or cardiac care, depending on interest and specialist knowledge. Opportunity for make double specialty is available. You should enjoy training and supervising assistant doctors, as well as participating in improvement work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with specialist competence in the specialty of internal medicine. You are interested in getting involved in a smaller hospital where you work with the full breadth of the specialty. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as the ability to work together, job satisfaction and good treatment of patients and colleagues. You should also be interested in participating in and taking responsibility for modification work. Previous work experience in hospitals with internal medicine inpatient care, experience of stand by and formal dual competence is an advantage.

Salary

By individual agreement. The average salary for specialist doctors in Sweden is between 80-90.000 SEK. However, a young specialist right after taking the specialist exam (with 0 year of experience as a specialist) earns 70.000 SEK which is the starting salary for a newly graduated specialist in the region. The more year one has as a specialist, the higher salary one receives. A consultant doctor can even earn 90.000 SEK or more.
