Salary
Individual salary setting based on experience.
The average salary for radiographers in Sweden is around 42-43.000 SEK but it can be even much more (50-55.000 SEK).
However, as you will begin your employment as a part-time radiology assistant after you have reached B2-level of Swedish while continuing your language studies parallelly with working, your salary will be a bit lower at the beginning. You will work in the clinic in the mornings and learn the language from B2 up to C1-level at home in the afternoons (50-50%). During this introductory period when you will not be able to work as an independent radiographer, you will earn 30.800 SEK/month.
Employment as a radiographer requires licence to practice from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) which in turn requires C1 in Swedish. It takes 4-6 months to become a legitimated radiographer (röntgensjuksköterska) in Sweden. The salary for a newly graduated radiographer who has not got any experience as a professional is at least 31.100 SEK. Those who are already experienced radiographers earn much more by agreement with the employer. See the average salary above.
On-call duties and their organisation
They work in the evening with preparedness which means that you leave home and come in for work in emergency cases about one night a week. There is a 30-minute turnaround time.
