On-call duty

As an Internal Medicine and Pulmonary specialist, you will vary your work between the department, reception and emergency services. We offer you a varied work at a smaller hospital where all expertise is close at hand. Here you will receive favourable working hours that involve working Monday-Friday between 08:00-16:30. Usual emergency duty is included in the service but not during the first period of employment due to introduction and language training. Emergency work is then guided by competence and experience.

Salary for staff with Swedish legitimation

Depending on professional background and competences, the general salary is 100.000 – 120.000+ SEK / month before tax for a double-specialist in Sweden.

However, it is not from the very beginning. First, employed as an assistant doctor with a general fixed-term employment as a form of employment for a period of 6 months while the language development and introduction take place in the workplace, the salary is 59,000 SEK. The salary is slightly lower at the beginning, even though you are a specialist doctor in your home country. This is because you have an introduction at the beginning and are not expected to carry specialist responsibility. At first you will walk alongside, get to know the operation, colleagues, systems, working methods, PMs and more.

During your introductory period of 6 months, you will study advanced Swedish (healthcare Swedish) 2 days a week through the Folkhögskolan. This increases your chances of a good introduction to your new work in Swedish healthcare and new workplace.

When Swedish licence to practice and proof of specialist competence has been issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare and the introduction is complete, the employment is transferred indefinitely and a new salary setting takes place as a specialist doctor according to agreement. The salary will reach the above mentioned 100.000 + SEK gradually, within 1-2 years.
