Description of work at the actual clinic and its assignment and goal 

As a specialist in the Neurology Reception, you work with reception activity with your own  reception.  We are also a consulting company that can be equated with on-call work as a neurologist on call during the day.  The clinic does not have a belonging neurology department.  We have a day care where we provide infusion treatments  during the day. 

We offer our patients Botulinum toxin reception where we treat  dystonia, facial hemispasm and chronic migraine. Stroke care is not included in our assignment in Gävle. Supervisor function during reception activities for assistant  doctors. 

The outpatient activities include a lot of administrative tasks in  the form of, for example, follow-up of investigations, assessment  of referrals from the county, certification. Doctors work in collaboration with other professions at the reception. 

We work together with a neurorehab-team consisting of an occupational therapist,  physiotherapist, speech therapist, dietitian, counsellor, nurses and neuropsychologist. 

What is attractive about the service / business? 

Working hours 08:00 – 16:30, Monday – Friday, break 30 minutes. 

Flex time 2 hours before and after the work shift. 

Not work at weekends or holidays. 

No on-call. 

Broad neurological focus on the reception that provides a varied work and opportunity for  development within several neurological diagnoses. 

Investigates and treats all neurological diagnoses. 

Plans for the future 

Digitization with the possibility of patient visits via video will be relevant via “my care  Gävleborg”, which enables teleworking.

Number of employees 

6 specialists and 4 trainee doctors, 5 nurses, 1 rehab coordinator, 1 assistant nurse, 3  neuropsychologists.

Staff turnover 

1 assistant doctor left in 2020, 

0 specialists left in 2019-2021, 

1-2 specialists will end in the spring of 2022, 

2 assistant doctors and 1 specialist began their employment during 2019-2021.

Clinical experience 

At least 1 year of experience from similar neurological activities is required. Experience from outpatient / reception activities would be an asset. If the doctor has worked in general neurology and has broad knowledge in various  neurological diagnoses, it would be an asset. 

Special knowledge and skills or special interests that are important for the position See “Clinical experience”. 

Desirable with broad interest and knowledge in Neurology. Basic knowledge in Internal Medicine.

Areas of responsibility / requirements linked to the service 

Supervisor function during reception activities for assistant  doctors. Supervisor for individual trainee doctors’ training (supervisor  training is obtained via the Region). 


The following salary is valid for 2022. From next year, a bit higher salary can be expected. Salary as: 

– Assistant doctor, general fixed-term employment 43 100 SEK during Swedish studies B2 – C1  in combination with work 50/50 before Swedish legitimation and specialist licence. – Legitimated assistant doctor, general fixed-term employment 47 100 SEK after having  Swedish legitimation and specialist licence and during introduction to the role.  – Leg assistant doctor, permanent employment SEK 51,100. When the candidate is able to  perform the work required in the role. 

– Specialist doctor, permanent employment SEK 64,800. When the candidate manages his / her  duties independently. 

– Head-doctor, permanent employment. After a while, it is possible to apply for a position as a  head-doctor where the salary is negotiated individually.



Services offered by the employer and Mediflexible  

• During the personal visit which is part of the interview process, the cost of travel, accommodation and meals are financed by Mediflexible  

• Free Swedish course from A1 to C1 level. Between A1 and B2 online and B2 – C1 in the  workplace in combination with work. The candidates will study each afternoon after  work. Financial support during the course up to B2 (the amount is topic of negotiation). 

• Free language education for family members – to B2 level for spouses and school-age  children is obligatory. 

• Help with the application for Swedish license to practice, supervision of the process  • free Swedish legal and social training which consists of 40 lessons 

• Integration assistance (assistance in registering at tax authority, opening bank account,  etc.)  

• Assistance in finding school/kindergarten for the children 

• Assistance in the organization of moving and in apartment-seeking 

• Support for moving: 20.000 SEK for singles and 30.000 SEK for families for furniture  transport + 5.000 SEK for travel costs.

• Two English-speaking reference persons who are reachable on phone, at least one of  them must be a chief and the other can be a colleague.
