Now we are looking for colleagues who want to be involved, developed and evolve together with us. We are looking for you who is a specialist both in Gastroenterology and in Internal Medicine or who is a specialist in Gastroenterology with broad competences in General Internal Medicine.

Requirements:

• Specialist in Gastroenterology

• Independent endoscopist with regard to gastro- and colonoscopy

• It is an advantage if one has the speciality in General Internal Medicine, too

• Must be able to handle patients with general internal medicine diseases

• Must be able to participate in on-call activity within Internal Medicine

• Social competence and cooperation skills

• B driving licence is a must

ABOUT THE WORKPLACE:

The gastroenterological care provided in Arvika is endoscopy examinations and gastrointestinal surgery with a focus on inflammatory bowel disease and medical liver diseases. At the reception there is the possibility of endoscopy and ultrasound for abdominal ultrasound and elastography.

The gastroenterology section is part of the Medical Clinic, which is responsible for care places and on-call activities within Internal Medicine at the Hospital in Arvika.

Salary

Region Värmland applies individual salary setting,

Starting salary for young specialists in 2024 in Region Värmland is 70.000 SEK (directly after specialist training without any experience as a specialist).

The average salary for specialist doctors in Sweden was between 75-90.000 SEK (around in 2023.

Hospital in Arvika

Region Värmland runs three hospitals; in Karlstad, Arvika and Torsby, with a variety of specialist receptions. In total, we employ approximately 700 doctors, 2.200 nurses and 1.200 assistant nurses. As one of the largest employers in Värmland, we have roughly 7.400 employees and run 20 health centres with GPs as well as maternity and childcare. We have good experience from recruitment from other countries as well as expertise in laws and regulations regarding migration and authorization of doctors from abroad.

Arvika

This hospital has most specialties. The surgical activities are extensive in orthopaedics and surgery, including endoscopic activities. We also conduct business in medicine, X-ray, rehabilitation, laboratory with blood donation, surgery and intensive care. At the hospital, there is also a psychiatric reception, gynaecological reception, an ear, nose and throat reception, a hearing centre, an oncologist reception and an eye reception with belonging subspecialties. The number of care places amounts to 50.

The emergency reception is open 24 hours a day, and the primary care on-call centre is also located here on weekends.

The hospital has about 530 employees.
